Danse adaptée (physical limitation)
Description
Danse adaptée classes are aimed for children, teenagers and adults with mild motor disorders and motor impairments. Dance learning aims to explore motor skills and expression. The expected benefits are gaining confidence and self-esteem, better use of one’s abilities, encouraging participation in a social activity. The Académie wishes to group participants by age groups and by limitations or disabilities.
École à la maison
Description
We are pleased to present a program designed for homeschooled students. With a view to an overall development, we strongly encourage aspiring dancers to take additional classes.
Je danse après l’école!
Description
Affirms the leadership of the Académie de danse de l’Outaouais in the field of dance training. A unique, innovative project, aligned with current thinking in education, Je danse après l’école! encourages collaboration with committed, visionary, and quality partners, promoting the development of dance in our region.
JE DANSE MIEUX-ÊTRE (Mental health prevention)
Description
Je danse mieux-être offers a series of workshops for young people, aged 12 to 18, who are struggling with mental health issues.
These series of workshops are presented in three parts:
- Elaboration of self-exploration sessions using movement and breathing based on the Feldenkrais somatic method.
- Construction on the principles of dance creation.
- Application of acquired knowledge to explore expression through movement.
Mise en forme par la danse
Description
Designed for adults, retirees and seniors, the Mise en forme par la danse program of the Académie de danse de l’Outaouais includes a variety of classes. Daytime and evening schedules allow the many enthusiasts to take advantage of these periods to take care of their body and their health, and to engage in a physical, relaxing, social, and cultural activity.
