Je danse à l’école!

Description

Je danse à l’école! sets up practical workshops aimed at promoting dance and developing in students’ openness, curiosity and critical thinking. Three phases are proposed, thus making it possible to adapt the activity to the needs of the students and teachers.
Here is an overview:

Discovery

The “Discovery” phase is an introduction to dance through a few historical notions related to other art forms.

Exploration

The “Exploration” phase is an experience that initiates young people to dance, both technically and creatively.

From the technical standpoint, we prioritize experimenting dance through practical movement workshops in a given technique.

From the creative standpoint, we offer a sample of compositional tools to nourish creation through dance.

Challenge

The “Challenge” phase allows, on the one hand, a deepening of the technical bases of dance, and, on the other hand, an initiation to a creative process in dance.

On the technical level, we introduce the students to a dance training method with a synthesis of different dance techniques.
(By dance training, we mean awakening the body to perform expressive movements.)

On the creativity level, we give the possibility of investing in a creative process by developing a dance composition.

Objective

Bringing the dance experience to life in an approach that is both playful and educational.
